It reads an awful lot like, “OH NO, out of the hundreds of Sherlock Holmes adaptations to exist, in this one there won’t be white male slash potential!!!” This is upsetting to a lot of people who, despite the potential for heteronormative bullshit, are really happy about a woman of color getting to play a really important role usually played by white men on mainstream TV. Which is, you know, not that common.
